While similar in function to the X2-10GB-LR module, this option tackles shorter distances using multimode fiber (MMF). This makes it ideal for connecting devices within buildings or campuses, or for shorter runs within data centers. MMF is also generally more cost-effective than the single-mode fiber used by the X2-10GB-LR. Just like its long-range counterpart, the X2-10GB-LRM is hot-swappable and features built-in diagnostics for reliable performance.
