The MOXA AWK-1137C is an industrial wireless client designed to provide reliable Wi-Fi connectivity for moving machines, vehicles, robotic equipment, AGVs and other industrial devices. Unlike a conventional office wireless access point, the AWK-1137C is optimized for industrial mobility. Its AP-agnostic Client-based Turbo Roaming technology provides sub-150 ms roaming recovery between access points under optimized test conditions, helping maintain wireless connectivity as industrial equipment moves between WLAN coverage areas.

Industrial Wireless Connectivity

The AWK-1137C connects industrial equipment to an existing WLAN without requiring a conventional wired Ethernet connection to the moving machine. Its dual-band Wi-Fi 4 capability allows operation on either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, while 2x2 MIMO provides multiple spatial streams for improved wireless communication.

The device is particularly suited to applications where equipment moves through different wireless coverage zones. Industrial Reliability and Installation

The AWK-1137C uses a rugged metal IP30 housing and supports 9 to 30 VDC power input. Integrated antenna and power isolation helps protect against external electrical interference. The device can be installed using DIN-rail or wall mounting, making it suitable for control cabinets, industrial machines and mobile equipment.

Standard models operate from 0 to 60°C, while the wide-temperature -T models support -40 to 75°C. The series also incorporates an anti-vibration design intended for industrial environments.

Wireless Security and Management

The AWK-1137C supports wireless security features including WEP, WPA/WPA2-Personal and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise with IEEE 802.1X/RADIUS. Current Moxa documentation also identifies support for MXview Wireless network management, providing network topology and wireless performance monitoring capabilities.
