High-Density Ethernet Connectivity
The MX204-HWBASE-AC-FS provides four rate-selectable QSFP+ ports capable of 40GbE or 100GbE operation. Supported channelization allows these high-speed ports to be used for additional 10GbE connectivity where the appropriate breakout configuration is deployed. The router also includes eight dedicated 10GbE SFP+ ports.
Carrier-Grade Junos Routing Platform
Built around Juniper's Trio chipset, the MX204 is designed for scalable Layer 2 and Layer 3 packet forwarding, buffering and queuing. Junos OS provides the routing software environment for advanced IP networking, MPLS, VPN services, Ethernet services, broadband aggregation and high-volume data-center interconnection.
Redundant AC Power and Cooling
The MX204-HWBASE-AC-FS includes two 650W AC power supplies operating with 1+1 redundancy. Each power supply is hot-removable and hot-insertable, allowing maintenance while maintaining system operation when the redundant power configuration is available. Three hot-removable fan modules provide front-to-back airflow.
