MOXA EDS-505A 5-Port Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch
The MOXA EDS-505A is a 5-port managed industrial Ethernet switch designed for reliable Fast Ethernet connectivity and advanced network management in industrial automation environments. The standard EDS-505A provides 5 × 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation, full/half-duplex operation and Auto MDI/MDI-X, making it suitable for connecting PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs, controllers and other Ethernet-enabled equipment.
Unlike unmanaged industrial switches, the EDS-505A provides Layer 2 management functions for controlling and monitoring industrial network traffic. It supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, port-based VLAN, GVRP, IGMP, QoS, SNMP, RMON, LACP and link aggregation, providing greater control over network segmentation, traffic prioritization and network monitoring.
For network redundancy, the EDS-505A supports Moxa Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain, STP, RSTP and MSTP. Moxa specifies Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain recovery of less than 20 ms in supported configurations, helping maintain network communication when a network link fails.
